Modpool Installation.
Easier than you think.

Modpools are designed so that any local general contractor or landscaper can install them with ease. 95% of our installs are completed by a contractor installing their very first Modpool. Here is everything you need to know.

How Installation Works

We build it and deliver it. Your contractor or landscaper installs it.

Modpools does not carry out on-site installation. What we do is build your pool to completion at our factory in Abbotsford, BC, test every system, and ship it fully assembled to your property by flatbed truck.

From there, a local general contractor or landscaper takes over. Modpools are specifically designed to make this handoff simple. We have a Contractor's Installation Package that walks your installer through the entire process step by step.

The result: 95% of Modpools are installed by a contractor completing their very first Modpool installation. No specialist required.

Installation Types

Fits any yard. Any terrain. Any space.

Traditional pools need a flat, open, accessible yard. Modpools don't. Whether you have a slope, a tight lot, a rooftop, or an existing deck, there is an installation method designed for your exact situation.

In-Ground

Fully In-Ground

The pool sits flush with your yard surface. Requires excavation and backfill around the pool. A clean, classic look that blends seamlessly into your landscape.

Semi In-Ground

Partially Buried

The most popular install method. The pool sits partially in the ground with the upper portion exposed above grade. Less excavation than full in-ground, ideal for most residential lots.

Above Ground

No Excavation Required

The fastest and most straightforward installation. The pool sits on a prepared level surface above grade. Zero excavation, zero disruption to your yard. Perfect for rental properties and tight timelines.

On a Slope

Sloped & Hillside Yards

Sloped properties are where traditional pool builders walk away. A Modpool can cantilever over a slope or sit semi-buried into a hillside, turning a challenging yard into an incredible feature.

In a Deck

Deck-Integrated

Build your deck around the pool for a seamless, resort-style finish. The pool sits at deck level with coping and decking wrapping the perimeter. One of the most visually striking results we produce.

Rooftop & Elevated

Rooftops & Raised Platforms

Modpools can be craned onto rooftops, terraces, and elevated platforms. A structural engineer assessment is required for rooftop installs. The result is a showstopper that no traditional pool could ever match.

DIY vs. Contractor

Can I install a Modpool myself?

Some owners choose to manage the installation themselves by sourcing their own crane and trades. Most prefer to hire a general contractor or landscaper. Here is how the two approaches compare.

Owner-Managed Install

You source and coordinate your own crane hire

You hire individual trades for electrical, plumbing, and any site prep

Full Contractor's Package provided by Modpools guides every step

Can reduce labour costs if you have trades connections

Requires more coordination on your end

You are responsible for permit applications in most areas

Best for owners who are comfortable managing trades and want hands-on control over the process.

General Contractor or Landscaper

One point of contact manages crane, trades, and site prep

Contractor typically pulls the permit on your behalf
